View Full Version : What are options to stock headlight bulbs without re-wiring anything....want more light!!! ADAM 10-26-1999, 08:03 AM . Bosch and Valeo both make them. Bosch uses H7/H7 hi/lo bulbs and H1 fog bulb - just like stock pre-99.5. Valeo apparently uses H4 bulbs and doesn't have built-in fogs, so you have to somehow install aftermarket ones. Folks using either noticed big improvement over stock. I will be installing the Bosch prob. this weekend. The Euro lights have a significatly better light pattern than US lights. I have used Euro lights on old Audi Coupe and Porsche 911 and noticed major improvements. Personal opinion; with all of these blue/white/green/chartreuse (whatever) bulbs folks have been using, you're still stuck with poor lighting pattern of US headlight units. Higher wattage bulbs can lead to overloading of wiring and overheating of light assembly (they're plastic). The Xenon HID assemblies are better but damn expensive. OK, I've spent significant time typing this - how about doing your own research in archives? Search on "lights" "bulbs", etc. Lots of info there - I just did research for Euro lights in past week, got plenty of info. |
