Car is 200 TQ.

Radiator fan is on all the time, temp shows past half mark. Coolant is cold.
Hoses are hot but soft.

What could be the problem ?
Thanks

Yeah. I hope it's not the water pump. Can I bypass the thermostat temporarily ?

I doubt it. May be you just have an air in the system. Try to open the cap when the car is warmed up (be very carefull) and squeeze the hoses several times. I've never had such problem on Audi, but this method worked fine once on my my previous '88 BMW 320i E30.
I hope it will help. Good luck.

Thanks, Sergei, I will do this. I think it's working fine, now, after I drive it for a 10 blocks. I will push out the air the way you mentioned.

Sounds like a stuck thermostat. Most likely you'll need to replace it...

Also, if needed...

To bleed air out of the system: Start the car while it's cold with the overflow tank cap off. Let it idle until the cooling fan comes on. Then put the cap back on and shut down.

Leaving the cap off lets the air bubbles escape as the coolant comes into the overflow as it begins to warm up...

I've always done it this way and have never had any air problems...

not a stuck thermostat. I originally expected the car to warm up fast at idle, so when I saw the water remain cold after the half mark temp, I panicked. It turned out, the water gets hot right after that.

I checked this twice, and last time when I open that cap from cold to hot, I do see flowing in the overflow bottle when cap open, and when close, the turbulence in water disappear, so I know that waterpump and the thermostat works.
