At what temperature does the side mirror heaters kick in? Yes, I do have the winter package. It was 48 degrees F in my neighborhood this morning and I drove my A4 for about 20 minutes. I then opened the window and checked the mirror on the driver's side and guess what, no heat. Does the TSB for mirror heat apply to 99.5s as well? This was one of the first days where the temp was cold enough to test this.
The wiring diagrams show that the side mirrors are tied to the defroster switch. Whether this was changed without updating the tech manuals, I don't know. But the diagrams were very clear on it.

from other posts I've seen complaints that the ones that run all the time died frequently. I suspect that mine are dead. Ironically the TSB says that people were seeing "steam" at car washes. Dumb design why they didn't hook it to the rear window defogger like the VW I'll never understand!

There may be a few '97's that carried over the design from '96. The factory wiring diagrams are sort of misprinted here and there....take them with a grain of salt!
