i love my car, dont get me wrong.. but i think i may have chosen the wrong color for her.
SILVER. everyone and their grandmother drives a silver a4.. ok, not everyone, but alot of people do.
anyone ever paint their car before? how hard would you think it would be to paint an a4?
engine bay, door sills, everything..
how much would a decent paint job go for? i looked in the sunday papers and found places thatll paint anywhere from 199 all the way to 3 grand..

i was thinking about yellow.. i wouldve bought a yellow a4, if they had one on the lot.. unfortunately, they only had a laser red and my silver one left..

maybe even titanium silver (s2000 dark silver, almost gunmetal gray)..

pls dont flame.. im seriously considering this..

since paintjobs are usually not as good as factory, then I would only consider it if I wanted a color that Audi didn't make - i.e. If I wanted red - then I would trade for an red A4. I too have a '98.5 silver one - wish I would have gone with laser red or pelican blue. I'll probably trade in my A4 for one of these colors. Yeah, trading in my car will cost me a bunch of money, but:

-I will have a second chance to get the options I want. (didn't get quattro - DOH!)
-I like the new projector headlights/seperate fogs
-indash CD
-Losing the all red dash is a bummer, but I'm not going to lose sleep.
-Miles get zeroed out - moving into a new car.

I'm still trying to figure out if this move is sane...

A third-party paint job just won't be the same as a factory paint job, and there are special things done to the factory paint to keep it nice. You'd be alot better off just trading it in for another color (black is nice, really nice when clean).
