I have a 1999 A4 1.8 TQS that has 12200 miles on it. For about the last 2500 miles I have noticed a rattle whenever I encounter a somewhat bumpy stretch of road. It sounds like the left side doors are not closed properly. Also the shifter console is starting to rattle. My question. Is this representative of a 1 year A4? and will my Audi dealer try to correct the problem? Thank you in advance.

My A4 has been extremely rattle free. I had one in the passenger seat headrest. The dealer replaced the catch on the height adjustment and that cured the problem (it has since come back - but I know what it is, and it is a simple fix). I had just one other rattle, which was in the center dash windshield vent. The dealer cured the problem. There have been no others, and the dealer fixed both of these free of charge under the Audi advantage warranty. I DO have a thunk from the rear, but that is probably caused by the Neuspeed anti roll bar I installed. I need to retorque the bolts, but I can't blame that on Audi. Otherwise this has been a very tight and rattle free car. I'm sorry to hear about your problems
