Anyone running a chipped MC1 with a manual boost controller as well? What psi are you running? Did you use the manual boost controller to assist in holding the psi that the chip dictates or did you up the psi a bit? If you upped it...Did you experience any fuel or ignition problems?

Also, anyone running upped boost with no BOV or BPV? Any problems? Anyone running BOV venting to atmosphere? Any problems? I'm under the impression that a BPV is the way to go and I understand why but Id like to know what everyone's experience is. Does venting to the atmosphere and not recycling the relieved boost air actually effect the fuel/air mixture?

Check out this link for some "boostin" info...

To answer some of your questions:

Yes, I ran a pre throttle body BOV for a couple of weeks. Would I do it again? No! A BOV is not ideal on the 5KT/200T because it will cause the car to run very rich!

Basically the ECU doesn't know that the air that is released into the atmosphere isn't there anymore and still supplies all the fuel for it. Running very rich like this gives poor performance and can cause engine damage by washing down the cylinder walls with fuel(extreme case)

I am currently running without either a bypass valve or BOV and it makes a big difference in acceleration.

I am currently developing a custom bypass setup for my car...

A bypass valve is a ideal setup. Simply route one into the low pressure side of the turbo and you'll be all set. This will allow the turbo to stay spooled up when the throttle valve slams shut. This will not only help with performance but also help the turbo from not damaging itself...

Manual boost controller? I haven't used one so don't know. There is a pressure valve that Paul Timmerman conceived that does kind off the samething. I'm a little fuzzy on Timmermans mod yet and still researching it myself. Again read the link to Ben Swans site...

Also, have you checked out ringsperformance.com yet? They make a nice single pass IC, bypass valve kit.

I plan on getting one someday...
