A buddy of mine and I just tracked my low boost (1.3-1.4 bar) down to a faulty wastegate frequency valve in my 91 200 TQ. I couldn't find one on the web - anyone know what one of these babys cost?

View Full Version : Wastegate frequency valve sscyco 12-14-2002, 04:25 PM A buddy of mine and I just tracked my low boost (1.3-1.4 bar) down to a faulty wastegate frequency valve in my 91 200 TQ. SteveAngry 12-15-2002, 02:24 AM listed in thier last catalog for $57.48 Check the link or call (920)758-3232 Steve Michigan

http://www.audiquattroparts.com</a

MrEd 12-15-2002, 07:33 AM Hmmm, maybe I have the same problem with my 87 5kt, I drove a 91 200T, and it seemed to have a lot more zip than my car. I attributed that to the age difference, and mileage of the two vehicles. I thought 1.3 to 1.5 bar was normal. However, you raise a question that I didn't even think to ask, where abouts on the car is this Wastegate Frequency Valve? Do you have a part number also? Thanks... CHeers cuatrokoop 12-15-2002, 08:12 AM The MC-2 will feel different than your MC-1. Higher compression ratio with a smaller turbo, less lag, same power output, feels faster. The 3B engine has a LOT more zip than either. 1.3-1.5bar is normal for the 10vt, but Ssyco has a 20vt (3B). MrEd 12-15-2002, 08:29 AM DaveN 12-15-2002, 08:54 AM but it is on the firewall next to the coil. It is used by the computer to vary the wastegate setting. Had mine give trouble once, but a high boost condition. I figured it was sticky, so I washed it out with WD-40 (you know, spray in the vaccum fittings, fingers over the fittings, then shake), after that it was good to go. sscyco 12-15-2002, 01:56 PM You may be thinking of the throttle potentiometer or the ISV - the wastegate frequency valve is right by the turbo bypass valve (next to the wastegate)near the grill - on the passenger sode of the car. MrEd 12-15-2002, 07:00 PM SteveAngry 12-16-2002, 02:54 AM on the location of the WFV on a 10 valve turbo... Yours is located differently because you have a 20 valve turbo...
