I am sure AoA would love to know what us enthusiasts want in our cars. They recently rolled out a few more options and increased the list of standard features on the A4/S4. So, what else are you interested in....should it be standard...or would you pay for it...
Here are mine for the S4:
1) Memory Seats (non-standard/willing to pay $200 extra for them)
2) Auto sunshade (non-standard/should be offered as a hot weather package, like
the A6/willing to pay $250 for it)
3) Actual tool kit (standard/should be included in the car)
4) Aluminum hood ...like the A6 (standard/should be included in car)
Things I personally don't care about, but others might:
1) Rain sensing wipers
And for the A4:
1) Sports package that includes 17X7.5 wheels/tires, not 16". (non-standard/
willing to pay $800 to get this option)
Ok...I know there are more that you might want...please list them so AoA can hear how
important they are to us. Yes, AoA does read these boards from time-to-time.

In addition to the items you mentioned:
Quattro GmbH packages should be made available
Boost guage (1.8t and S4 - should be standard)
Hot weather package should include cooled seats ($400 for whole package)

1) Can the seat-backs be made thinner to give more knee room for the back passengers?
2) Design wise I'd make the flare of the wheel-wells come down closer to the tires to reduce the size of the gap. This will also retain clearance.
3) Offer driving classes like in europe
4) A drivetrain warranty up to 100,000 miles like VW

Well, I don't live in the US, but at least that way I could get access to these products more easily as they are neither offered in my country.

Forgive me if this sounds callow or even a little crazy but what if you had the choice of several ECU programs that allowed you to tailor your new car to your particular driving style. Or better yet, a selectable program that enabled you to achieve high gas mileage for commuting and then at the press of a button, you had 180 HP. Or maybe you wanted to manipulate the torque curve to lower or higher RPM's depending on where you were driving. On the highway, the torque curve on a stock 1.8T is pretty good but lets say that you want to rip around a curvatious valley and do not venture into the 5500 range often enough to harness all of the power. If Audi can offer two different chips (programs) for the same engine, why not do it in the same country??
and I am sure that issues pertaining to warranty and maintainance could render diffacu;ties for dealers but Just a thought.

I've got to say that Audi's OEM wheel selection is growing more and more pathetic (with the exception of the S4 and TT wheels).
The new "sport" wheels are even worse than the old-seven spokers-- which weren't AWFUL, but not great either.
I'm totally envious of BMW's OEM wheel selection. Generally, they are very sharp, very sporty, but also very classy. Their wheel designers know what's up.
Another thing that I've noticed that BMW does better is FENDER GAP. BMW's generally have a much much lower appearance than Audi's, which (in conjunction with the snazzier wheels) makes them look much more aggressive.
Just one man's opinion, no flames please.

I'd like to have the controls for the windows mounted forward of my elbows! :) And how about a little less assist on that power steering pump, and a little more feel on center? More power is always nice, but that is the reason you move out of the 1.8T to a 2.8 to the 2.7T etc. I'd also like genuine metal exterior door handles instead of plastic. Otherwise I ditto the sport package ought to be on 17" wheels. And lose the cheesy grilles that look like they came from a storm drain. I can think of others, but this is all that comes to mind right now.

... give us better customer service. As a 98.5 2.8q owner, the least the guy with the "take a hair and wrap it around his head" style could have done was take a second to speak with me after getting out of his '00 A6 4.2.
God help them, Audi needs help. Cars are getting better, people are getting worse.

than it is, more in the BMW spirit It should include sport seats and 17" wheels, the 1.8T could remain as is to make more differentiation on the two models.

Power window switches that are more linear. More power for both models. Larger rims and tires and stiffer suspension for sport package. Owner programmable remote. Smoother shifting manual transmission. Trunk and fuel filler door release form inside cabin (don't know if this has changed since 97).

1) 3 sports packages available just like those in Europe.
2) Standard Recaro leather sports seats (Recaro cloth seats are no-cost option)
3) Better sports wheels (we want to European ones)
4) 1.8T has 180hp, 2.8 (or 3.0) has over 225hp
5) Better location of power windows for shorter people (just like my girlfriend)
6) Canadian DESPERATELY want an A4 Avant. They will make a huge mistake when the E46 Touring and V40 launch sometimes next year
7) Audi of America/Canada certified aftermarket parts (chips, filter and kits)
8) Aftermarket department at the local dealerships. Customers can choose whoever they want before taking delivery
9) Xenon headlights standard on A4
10) Better height adjustment for the manual seats
11) Full-size spare tires (even my cheaper Bora has full-size spare instead of dount)
12) All the Quattro GMBH accessories available at the dealer

1. Dummy headlights, that go on automatically when it is dark. (The Grand Am even has these)
2. Auto windshield wipers, the jetta has them.
3. Yaw Control.
4. Memory seats/Mirrors
5. Power rear sunshade.
6. More than any thing else, the V6 TDI offered in Europe!!

Fantastic car, but here the thoughts off the top of my head:
1) I love the auto climate control, but I'd like more intuitive and absolute control over settings in manual mode. Also dual zone settings (for my "it's always too cold" wife).
2) Customized memory settings for different keys (currently just climate control): seat settings, stereo settings, climate control, mirrors.
3) VW style door handles but in body color. I like the pull handle style.
4) Move window switches on driver door; difficult to reach them. Also, while I love the auto up/down feature, this makes it nearly impossible to make small adjustments to the window. Not sure what would be better.
5) Performance related options are a given... everyone's mentioned this one already.
6) Body colored lower mouldings.
7) Rear sunshade.
8) True sequential automanual transmission (a la Ferrari). Perhaps this multitronic thing will turn out nicely; haven't seen any reviews yet.
9) Ventilated seats.
10) Better gas mileage. Inconsistent with my desire for more power, but one can dream.
11) Reliable front suspension.
12) More cloth options. I prefer VW's cloth upholstery to Audi's "satin."
13) On seats. Lumbar support could use vertical adjustment as well as forward/back. Also, could use a thigh adjustment.

want a release for the fuel and trunk from the inside? I mean, if you are inside I guess your doors are unlocked and so just press the button on the trunk - or what am I missing? I mean, you still need to lift up the lid. Same applies for the fuel door.

0) Service dept. that doesn't treat me like a criminal, even without mods
1) Better brakes (should be standard, and I don't mean just wet braking)
2) Memory seats (worth $200 to me)
3) Automatic wiper control (call me anal)
4) In-dash MD player as option (I'd pay a LOT for one if it would work with the trip computer display)
5) Compass on the trip computer -- let's face it, even a Chrysler has one standard these days
6) More leg room in the back!
7) Heated back seats, like A6
An easy-to-plug-in handsfree kit for the cell phone would be nice, too -- who does really order something from Audi? We all have our phones with numbers in them, and want to keep em!
A stiffer sport suspension, fog lights that can be turned on with just the parking lights (like BMW; for those of us who actually want to use them during a real fog, not like all those folks who have them running all the time), a mandatory schooling in courtesy before anyone is given the password for the rear fog light, and a butt that doesn't look like that of the A6.
Power? Who cares... if you aren't happy with 190hp of the 2.8, get the S4. Sure I wouldn't mind more power, but come on, get real, I don't care how many hp I have when I am standing still.

It is not a "Duhhhhh" statement. This is a valid one. Just because the $41K S4 offers them doesn't mean the 1.8T or 2.8 with a sports package shouldn't offer them. BMW does, and I think it is a valid option package that should be available on the A4 as well (for extra money, of course)

The equivalent of the Euro sport package ought to be made available for those A4 owners that want more than the 1.8T but can't/don't want to shell out for the S4.

Aluminum hood is also a good idea. Leather seats on the 1.8 may have convinced me to buy that instead of 2.8.
Now, if we're really dreaming, I'd suggest
1. 1-2 inches more rear seat leg room
2. Move front wheels forward a la BMW for better F/R balance
3. Less clutch throw distance (is that the proper term?)
