I had the driver's door panel off to check for broken wires and while down there I fixed my speaker connection (all 10 speakers work now) and afterwords threw the key into the ignition to turn it on. The speedometer gauge jumped to 40 mph, floated for a second, the radio was turned on and the speakers started making a crackling noise but then stopped. Had to jump start the car to get it started but everything runs now except the abs light won't go off. I think the wire for that speaker may have been shorting with another wire in the door jamb and could have blown my abs fuse.

How much time does it take and how hard is it to rewire the driver's door jamb boot? What is the proper way of doing this so I'll never have to worry about broken wires again?

Probably the fuse under the dash. It is pluged into a relay looking thing, It is the relay for the ABS, I needed to replace the "relay" when the fuse would keep blowing every time I put one in. Its a red fuse (10amp???)
