Polishes are Rich Feeder oils which are designed to feed and nourish the paint to create I deep high gloss. They are non abrasive and do not remove any film build. They are short lived products and are equivalent to Glazes. In the old days they would remove or reflow the Laquers and enamels. Today they only fill or cover defects like swirls or spiderwebs. The only way to remove swirls completely is to use a product that combines a diminishing type Cleaner and a polish. Like Meguiar's # 9 Swirl Remover or Gold Class Prep and Swirl Reducer.
