I really like the look of the S4 bumper, is it available (and fit) for regular old A4? If so, any guess on price with labor?

View Full Version : S4 bumper for my A4 Pete B 10-25-1999, 10:13 PM I really like the look of the S4 bumper, is it available (and fit) for regular old A4? If so, any guess on price with labor? James R. 10-25-1999, 10:17 PM They were going to sell the bumper front and rear for something like $1500...that is if my memory serves me, could be more could be less. You can't beat it for fit and finish. www.greedspeed.com Regards, James R. 99 1.8TMS (Neuspeed K04, K&N Filter, Remus Exhaust, Neuspeed Sport Springs, Neuspeed Front Anti Sway, Bilstein Sport Shocks, Brembo Rotors, Mintex Red Box, Ronal R28's 17", Euro Corners, Clear Sides, Full Tint...and some other stuff I probably forgot) why? 10-26-1999, 05:04 AM I know the temptation to upgrade to the nicer stuff from the new performance model, but weigh the cost/benefit. Last week I saw a 328i that someone had "turned into" an M3-- complete with M badges, M-sport seats, front and rear valances. At the cost of these retrofits he could have had a good lightly used M3. Too bad the used car window sticker had to blow its cover. And unfortunately, this kind of stuff puts you in the company of the poseurs that "create" preposterous vehicles like te M318i. DL 10-26-1999, 07:05 AM so what you see may not be aftermarket or retrofitted. My sister has a 530i with M5 wheels, seats, suspension, built by BMW's M division. She likes the look of an M5 but doesn't need the extra horsepower and doesn't want to spend extra money. Someone metioned above Audi should make Quattro GmbH products available to us in NA. I couldn't agree more. And you're right, BMW marketing has reached out to the people who want the look without the price (however, they still don't sell spot-on M3 fakes.) So did Porsche, with the "Turbo look". Someone out there will spot the difference. If this doesn't bother you, go ahead. Personal test #1: Would I be embarassed to show up at a BMW or Quattro drivers school in this ride? I would be embarrassed to show up in a faux M3 or S4. I would have spent huge bucks on things that didn't fool that audience and don't make either the car faster or me a better driver. Personal test #2: is the value of a wing/bumper cover/whatever worth more to me than a trip to the Nurburgring, a World Rally, or helicopter skiing every couple years?
