OK, how much longer? My dealer called to tell me the VIN on my 99' 1.8Tqms! He claims I'll probably receive it in another month, or torwards the end of November. Sound accurate? That will make 4 months, considering it's been on order since 7/23/98! Well, I'm getting excited!
JT 99' 1.8Tqms

sounds correct, audi is in full swing production now and orders are typically taking 4 to 8 weeks this time of year. if you feel froggy and use some of the phone deals out there (10-10 321) ect. call germany and ask about the production and delivery schedule for your particular vin. forget the dealer (middleman) then give your dealer the info. he will be shcoked and know you mean business. the call will cost about $9.00. its worth it. dont call audi customer service. search the internet for the audi plant number. go get em
I recently was told I have a VIN and it is now in port waiting to get on the boat. I'm getting excited too (ordering snows, winter mats, CD changer, hands free phone kit, etc.)
I wonder if our cars are sitting next to eachother... or travelling on the same boat. I guess we could check our VINs after to see how close the numbers are.
TGB 1999 1.8T qMS

Jeff,

Glad to see that you've got the VIN! It's about time, eh! I guess all you have to do now is to dust off all your accessories and get them ready for your A4! :) Oh yeah, put that nice aluminium Audi coffee mug you got at Gloucester to good use! :)
4 more weeks! ....
Cris
It was great meeting you up in Gloucester...nice to put a face behind a name! Anyway, thanks for the words of encouragement! I'll keep in touch. I'm still looking for a perfect set of 16", 5-spokes to mount some snows on for winter use, too! Talk to you soon.
JT 99' 1.8Tqms

I'm still looking for a perfect set of new or take-off OEM, 16", 5-spoke alloys to mount snows on for winter use. Thus far, I haven't had much success. There was someone on NY who sold a perfect set for $500, but another A4 enthusiast in Virginia claimed them before me. If you know or hear about anybody selling a set, please let me know. Thanks!
JT 99' 1.8Tqms

I just called my dealer who told me that my car has reached the port and that I should expect to be driving it by the middle of next week. ( The port's in Delaware, I'm in Maryland )
I'm responding just because I am too excited to contain myself.
I orignally struck a deal in late May but couldn't decide on a color until late July.
I was going to go for brilliant yellow until I saw one; decided on volcano black.
Woohoweeeh and good luck on the wait; the last month is certainly the hardest.
Rob
1.8Tqms as well

I did go to boarding school in in Conneticut for a couple of years
Indian Mountain in Lakeville ( 1979-1981)

Plagued with a nagging curiosity, I once did a yahoo people search and found at least twenty people in this country using my name, so I'm not suprised it sounds familiar.
