1) ordered from Blaufergnugen on Wednesday, came on Friday to Pittsburgh - ground shipping! $215 per unit, with clear side markers.

2) Bosch lights - glass lens (per knuckle rap test; clips hold lens to housing), no motor for remote height adjustment (somebody indicated Bosch units had them?). Units made in early '98.

3) No bulbs; will call Blau tomorrow. Sales-knucklehead said bulbs included; ad sez nothing.

4) Installation: Somebody wrote up post early in the year saying they'd write up a FAQ on installation; apparently never happened. Others writing on experience (from searching archives) say is fairly easy (plug & play?). Will find out - can't be any worse than old Coupe Quattro that needed a wiring harness adapter made and lower mounting screws were impossible to get at. Apparently, side markers are removed first to access a side mounting screw (held in by a T30 Torx screw, for which you apparently need a ratchet - thanks, Andy H.). Will probably attempt installation later in week or over weekend.

Are these projector or not? Is the reflector element metal or metal covered plastic? Thanks!

These are the E-code versions of the projector lights that come on 99.5 A4's, they are not the same as the S4 Xenon lights but still awesome.

I assume that your Euros are the same size/shape as your DOT lights. If that is true, then if you are lucky they will mount the same way. Two torx bolts on top and one on the side. The sidemarker comes out easily and the side torx bolt is easy to find. I used a torx-driver on all three bolts without a problem to remove my old lights. When I was removing the side bolt, the torx driver was resting on the inner edge of the bumper, but this didn't bother me.

I'm curious whether you will have to re-wire or whether you have a connector on the new light that plugs into the old harness?

Do the Euros have the integrated foglights like the DOT lights?

The Euros should have city lights, which makes me think that the connector will be different, although now that I think about it, the connector on the DOT lights has one small, unused pin location.

I installed my Euro projectors this weekend. Still need to level them, which I will do tonight. Next week I'll probably have pics and detail the installation.

Bosch Euros - non-projector, looked like metal-covered plastic. Include built-in fogs like pre-99.5.

Yes, unit are basically a match to OE units as far as external assembly and integral fogs. From archives appear to be a direct replacement; wiring just plugs in. Will find out!

Thanks for the bolt info. Somebody else indicated the use of a ratchet/socket on the side bolt. Will see what is needed.

Just curious if I was due these as part of the headlight sale. I left sales slip at home, or I'd call Blau today.

I have the Greedspeed projectors on my 98.5 and we had to cut/grind some (hidden) metal off of the front fenders. This metal is behind your existing corner lamps. If you pull out one of your corner lamps, then most of the fender metal that was hidden is what has to be removed.
