I have a 1990 V8q that was totalled. It is black on grey leather and in fine condition.
The only snag is that a woman in a Ford Explorer tried to make a left turn just about where I was trying to drive. The insurance company listed the car as a total loss due to the damage. Not able to accept the fate of this car being in the hands of a faceless conglomerate, I retained salvage rights and started to look the car over very closely.
It wasn't as bad as the insurance company thought.
What it needs - left front corner body parts. That's about it. The Explorer was tall enough that she never touched my bumper. It wiped the headlight, pass. front fender and 1/3 of the hood on the passenger's side. The airbag is good, it still runs and drives fine (doesn't even seem to need an alignment), all the doors open and close, the grill and foglight/signal combo are still good. There was NO "frame" damage.
Here's the problem - rebuild or sell as is? Maybe someone could help me out on this decision. The car has 108k miles and is fully loaded, everything even works. If someone makes me a serious, realistic offer my Bentley Manuals, second set of wheels and tires and CD changer go with it. For a slightly reduced offer I may keep the changer and the wheels.
The other option is: does anyone have a front clip available? Obviously, I would prefer black.
Any questions can be e-mailed to me directly at ewak1@aol.com

Thanks
