Hey guys.... so like this morning I yanked on my door handle to open it and I heard a very small snap. I think the cable snapped. Any of you guys experienced this before. I'm gonna take it off tomorrow to see if there's anything I can reattach. Don't wanna spend extra dough on a new door handle.
Thanks 5K lovers!

The snap you heard was probably a piece of potmetal in the handle mechanisim. Why the Germans so love pot metal I will never understand. The only cure is replacement. That is why junk yard Audis are always missing door handles. Replacement is not difficult, I became quite adept when I had a 5K. A few companies make a repair piece for VW handles. I have never tried it because used Audi handles were cheap.

bimmerparts.com (Zygmundt?) has handles. I think at $38.00 if the junk yard fails you.
I have another related problem. I locked my door with the key and quickly reopened (my brilliant acid test to see if something works against the laws of physics) it as it was locking. It made a little faint breaking a part noise and now the lock, locks down but won't open on that side. IDEAS before I tear it open? Parts?

Yep It happened to me too. I got real clever, I played musical door handles.. hehe. Now my driver side rear door has a keyhole but it won't open fom the outside. the driver door has no keyhole but works fine, but when operating the power window..........it opens the door. The only way I can lock and unlock from the outside is from the original passinger front door.
Oh well, I didn't spend any $......

Just put a new driver's handle on my sedan, no more body contortions to push in on the handle and squeeze the trigger.
Get a new one.
