I bought this car after and accident and sitting period of 6 days...i know the guy that owned the car and he said it was starting fine when he drove it befor the accident.......symptoms: car turns over okay and does catch sometimes for a sec or so but dies emediately...I checked for spark and it's there!

now I heard that some cars have a impact switch that cuts off the fuel supply to the engine in an accident I am wondering if that is the case in this car?

Please help I want to start doing the body work as soon as the car starts up for me :)

Thanx

Maybe in the moment of the accident the toothed belt of your car leap over
some teeth. Put off toothed belt cover and check the fixing markings. Lower
marking: theres a "window" on gear housing. If you turn the engine by hand
there comes a "0" (zero). Upper marking (camshaft): a very small point on
the back side of the camschaft wheel. It must be agree with seal of cylinder head hood. If the engine runs again check also the V-belt pulley (itīs the vibration damper of crankshaft). If it wobbles the engine bearings will be damage soon.

...it has a reference pin on the flywheel and a pickup that senses the pin as the engine rotates. If the ECU sees the the pickup sensing the pin passing by, it tells the fuel pump to run. If it does not see the pin, it knows the engine is not spinning and shuts down the fuel pump.

This applies to the MC engined twins of mine, your 85 may be different.

Go to Scott Mockry's site http://www.teleport.com/~scottmo and see if it helps.

Good luck!
