The differences will present a _lot_ of work for you, it's actually easier to either buy a new car, or buy an 86+ non-turbo and graft an MC engine/ECU/fuel system into it.

Or, heck, you could be completely off the wall and do a V8 into a 5000 conversion like one of the quattro listers did a while back.
