I love the car but now it's pissing me ofF!
Autocheck ... gone
Boost Gauge / Trip Comp etc ... gone
and now the speedo ?
I got the Autocheck working for a while by cleaning everything but now it's all going!
It start with the clock light ... it turns on when the light is off and off when the light is on .. there's a good one. Bulb is ok... anyone?
I guess I will have to open everything back up again and start soldering... anyone got pictures of where the speedo usually screws up or the other things? I enjoy the hunting for broken cables/bad connections but don't want to make this into a career!
On top of all this the radio is causing hell again too. Actually it's the rear amp ... not the one I replaced a few months ago ... the other one. Have any of you bypassed the stock amps with an aftermarket amplifier unit? Are the connections there to trigger an aftermarket amp, and will the preamp voltage be compatable?
I would really like to get rid of these original amps all together as they are cause too many problems. I don't want to get a new head unit as I have bought a new Bose one from Blau a few months back. So is there a comatable solution?
HELP !!!
Please!

Thanks again in advance!

Where is the PC board, I am having similar problems. I don't have a manual, so I went to a "pick a part" and dissasembled a 100 dash. I didn't find any connections that seemed solderable. Did I not go deep enough?

Take the Autocheck PC board out of the white cover, and then you can resolder all the joints on the backside. On the main remaining part of the cluster, the "regular' (speedo, tach, fuel, water temp) instrument cluster PC board is now exposed. Resolder those joints too. Then reassemble everything. Do this work at a clean, well lighted work area. For static protection, lay a large sheet of aluminum foil on the table first. With a length of wire, ground this foil to the center screw of an outlet cover, this is earth ground. MAintain body contact with the foil when you handle the instrument cluster.
