I was wondering if I was losing my mind...hehe, I probably am =)

I have an intermitant(sp) locking situation. I can turn the switch and sometimes they both lock and sometime only one locks and sometimes neither of them lock. Any ideas?? I was thinking maybe it is low fluid. Soooo then, how much fluid does it take to fill up a rear diff and tranny when changing the fluid. The Bentley is a little confusing and the owners manual only states what kind of fluid. Of course it could also be the vacuum switches too. Anyone????

TIA,

-Kris

although they will not always go right in unless the gears are meshed right, so the car might have to be moved a few feet before they will engage or disengage. I don't know how much fluid (never bothered to measure), just fill them up to the bottom of the fill holes on level ground.

That is what I was thinking too. Hmmmmm. I LOVE to look for vacuum leaks. =)

Thanks for the reply

Well I drained and refilled the rear end and tranny and the differentials seem to be locking a little easier. I think that the car needs to be rolling to fully engage the locking mechanisms properly.

Just an update.
