My 1987 audi 5000 cs quattro dash lights go out if you turn up the dimmer switch on the computer to high. I can turn it about half way and it just goes out, anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

pull the computer (it just snaps into the dash), open it up, and clean the control. Radio Shack sells control cleaner. I'm willing to bet on the light control though, it is mounted over the glove box, and gets bad connections in it. I was able to take mine apart, and solder the connections (there are 2 PCBs in it with a ribbon cable, the connections on the ribbon go). Good luck with it.
