I am looking to buy an engine to rebuild for power. I was told that 88 5000 heads have 40mm valves. I have a booklet printed in '86 that says "all new 5000 models are equipped with 40mm valves."
Does this mean that '87 5000's are equipped with the larger valves? Thanks.

that the 88 5k's with the NF engine code was the first Audi I-5 to have the 40mm intake valves...
