My stomach turned this weekend as I watched the pussification of the A4. The model had a borderline image to begin with, now any trace of masculinity is lost.

the girl says "[the A4 is] great for picking up guys...". hurl hurl hurl

Don't get me wrong the A4's engineering can stand on its own merits, it is truly an enthusiasts car. But to see the propagation of a girl's car image broadcast on national television? Could have done without that.

Your message is very childish, and anti-woman. Yes, the Audi can stand on its own. But if the company wants to sell more cars in the US they need to market to all segments of buyers. This wouldn't bother you if you were secure in your masculinity.

The message was intended to be childish and anti-woman. It is also no revelation that by marketing to women, Audi could sell more cars. As for my masculinity (or my gender), you'll never know.

...and think this through. After they see the ad, the women will come over to see YOUR car. What better way to meet females that really know a great car when they see one.

IDIOT!!!

I think of the A4 as a god send because as with anything else, my Wife and I had a hell of a time deciding and agreeing on a car. I wanted a sporty well built car with a lot on niceties and good character. My Wife wanted a 'peppy' car with cool lines, small and manuverable. When we saw the A4, we both fell in love with it and waited to hear what the other would say to trash it. Indeed we had nothing bad to say.

Although it pains me to hear her describe it as a 'new baby' or 'cute', she does not like me to call it the 'bad ass car' or talk about chips and exaust.

The fact is, we both love the car for different reasons and we just have to be happy with the fact that niether of us has to live with hearing the other say, 'I hate that car' or fight over which got to pick out the car.

As far as the commercial that exemplifies a Females approval by calling it a Guy Getter, I guess the Guys can look at it as a girl getter too!

I do not think that Amead meant anything sexist by his comment. I just think that it was said with a smile and a laugh.

You were obvioulsy just having some fun. Unfortunately, militant feminists have no sense of humor. I though your post was funny (BTW, I am happily married to a great woman, who would probably find your post funny too, or at least would not give it a second thought). The real problem here is that the US is now the victim of a new MCarthyism knon as the politically correct movement.

with your feminine side... Get a life!

The A4 should be appreciated for its engineering merits. The ad makes a feable attempt at promoting a stereotype which I don't believe is a politically correct way to market a good car.

I am smiling and laughing at those who are so quick to jump on my humor.

No reason to be so angry... It's just commentary folks.

I was just thinking about this. Men REAALY like this car, and I must admit it has some masculine appeal. So, What makes a great car for "picking up guys"? A car Guys like! How many of you guys would like to be "picked up" in a light green ford contour?
