View Full Version : BTW, where can I get the TSB about the doors locking at 15 mph. The dealer doesn't have a clue. Bonnie 10-25-1999, 03:35 AM Hans 10-25-1999, 04:13 AM

From the FAQ here on the ORG

jim in wnys 10-25-1999, 05:00 AM .. My new car comes with a "safety" feature which requires that you hit the fob two times to open all doors. Is this controlled by the ECU, and if I've reprogrammed engine management w/ APR, Authothority, etc., do I run the risk of my dealer reverting to stock software when I have him program the remote to open all doors on the first click? Philip 10-25-1999, 05:57 AM When I took my car in for reprogramming, the tech at my local dealer told me the code for 15-mph automatic locking was the only code furnished directly from AofA. Presumably, other options--such as one touch unlocking of all four doors--are concidered safetly issues. BTW, though I had the full list of codes, and was considering adding one-touch unlocking and remote operation of the windows and sunroof, the only change I had the dealer make was auto locking. Philip '99.5 2.8QM Andy Hedin 10-25-1999, 09:37 AM The "control module" coding DOES NOT effect the engine control unit (ECU) and visa-versa. So no worries.... Any other code mentioned in the FAQ article might not be covered under the TSB, meaning that the dealer might not perform any of the other changes or the dealer might charge you a fee to add the others. I paid my dealer $15 to add the code I wanted....this was prior to the release of the TSB. Some folks have gotten the coding done for free while others have had the request totally denied.
