I am trying to satisfy a request for information regarding the K WGFV. I know it's for RS2 applications, but how does it work for stock, chipped and >RS2 modifications? Right now, the only U.S. supplier that I can find for the K valve is APTuning, at $90+. I was going to put one in last year, at the suggestion of some guys on the Audifans mail list, but never got to it.

Experience? Opinion? WAG?

Unfortunately, it doesn't do very well at answering the question of how the K valve does at higher-than-stock levels of boost. And that's the question that's of interest to those of us with chipped and/or bigger-blowered cars.

be done. Its not a big cost. Don't agonize over it, do it.

Main Entry: tur·bo·charg·er
Pronunciation: -"chär-j&r
Function: noun
: a centrifugal blower driven by exhaust gas turbines and used to supercharge an engine

Main Entry: blow·er
Pronunciation: 'blO(-&)r
Function: noun
1 : one that blows
2 : a device for producing a current of air or gas

So technically a belt driven supercharger and an turbocharger are both blowers. Also, saying that a supercharger refers only to the belt driven type is incorrect. The definition of supercharger makes no mention of the type of drive. It is synonymous with blower.

Main Entry: su·per·charg·er
Pronunciation: -"chär-j&r
Function: noun
: a device (as a blower or compressor) for pressurizing the cabin of an airplane or for increasing the volume air charge of an internal combustion engine over that which would normally be drawn in through the pumping action of the pistons

engines, hence "6-71 blower". Not that I was there but I was around in 50's and was a car nut by the early 60's.

Yes, that old.

However, they do get rusty from time to time.

Rusty never complains, despite her red hair.
