I am trying to determine the link between the radio and the control module. Is it merely that cars with a particular radio have a corresponding control module, or is there more. Is and of the control module embedded in the radio...if you were to replace the factory stereo with an aftermarket one some time after you had your programming done, would you lose your programming features?

You state that there is a problem with the way a harness is made for aftermarket stereos. Is there a wiring fix that can be performed to allow programming once a aftermarket stereo is in place?
