my rims are et32, I am looking at either tire size in a 245-40-18, the Azenis is 9.8" wide with tread width of 9.1". The KDW is 9.6" wide, no clue on tread width.

The KDW is in stock in my town for $810, the Azenis is not in stock but can be ordered and costs more, I am leaning toward the Azenis cause I know the tread width, but assume both widths are similair?

I assume 245-40-18 will fit my et32 without rubbing if guys here are running 255's on et35, its 3mm less than the 255 setups.

rain. If you do lots of driving in the rain at higher speeds though, I would suggest you go a different route. Otherwise, I really think you'll love the 615!

caused by the outer edge of the tire rubbing the back and front of the inner plastic fender liner at full lock (this is with tall Michelin Pilot Sport Alpine PA2's). The rubbing was really minimal and now that my wheels have been conveniently removed for me, I can show you the scuff marks on the plastic inner fender guard if you like. With an ET32, 8" wheel, you will have very, very little rubbing, IMO. If you went to a 245 or 255 with a 35 profile, you'd be a little closer to the proper rolling radius. A 35 profile would generally suck if your roads are rough (don't want to ruine an expensive rim!) but the sidewalls on the Azenis are STIFF compared to a regular sport tire.

the way I see it is a 245 width tire on et32 sticks out 3mm less on the outside than a 255 width tire on et35, and if 225 is possible (I've seen it with S6+ springs) then my basic but expanding logic says I can fit 245 on et32. But I am lost because tire manufactures widths all vary.

sounds like a 235-40 BFGoodrich KDW 2 will not fit et32, Levent had rubbing on his et35.

all these numbers are confusing, but I am just affraid of blowing $800 on tires I cant drive. I want to get as wide as I can cause what I have now absolutely SUCKS. (flaken ziex 512) too narrow tread width and these tires cant corner under this heavy of a car, driving me mad

which is why I have these zeix, they said they would not install a tire wider than 225 on my car cause 225 is Audi recomendation

Seams to me like as long as you don't have mud guards, you *should* be okay. My rubbing issues with the ET 29 setup and 245/40/18's were really minimal and only occured at full lock (parking lots, etc). The Azenis are wide, but I don't see how it could be worse than my setup, with 3mm more poke up front. If you need the for sure solution, a 35 profile seams to be a safe bet to avoid any possible rubbing issues. It seams that most people run the 40 profile to protect the wheel. If you live in a really pot hole filled area, you definitely have some tough choices ahead of you!
