..brought about it's demise.
I don't suppose I could get a blank IR key somewhere and have another made, huh?
I need to step through all the reprogramming steps again, but I'm pretty sure it's dead, Jim.

Gotta take it all back.
On a hunch, I reversed the polarity of the batteries (turned them over).
Works like a champ.
Clue for those who take the batteries out of their IR keys, and didn't make a note of how they came out:
The "+" legend by the battery hole means that the "+" side of the battery faces UP (toward the slide-off cover). Same goes for the "-" legend.
OBTW - Wal-Mart sells those V386 batteries pretty cheap. As compared to Radio Shack, who wanted $5/battery.

Good to know on the battery costs, I spent a small fortune replacing mine a few months ago.

Even though it works, it doesn't have the range it did before. Even with new batteries, it doesn't work much more than a foot away from the sensor.

I read your post as exactly opposite of how they were actually supposed to be.<ul><li><a href="http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/172272.phtml">Opposites attract?</a></li></ul>

Except to my already shaky sanity, of course. :P
