They are a great deal at only $19.95 a bulb. I was wondering if these are good bulbs....<ul><li><a href="http://www.audiquattroparts.com/xenon.htm">http://www.audiquattroparts.com/xenon.htm</a</li></ul>

These are not HID (high intensity discharge) bulbs. Xenon is an inert gas used in incandescent bulbs to extend filament life. The bulb operates under a higher pressure so filament vapor pressure is lower than the pressure inside. Halogen is put into bulbs to prevent filament deposits (shiny metal film in the inside surface)by increasing the deposit vapor pressure. The filament vapor combines with the halide gas and forms an equilibrium pressure instead of totally vaporizing the filament.

Performance Unlimited Motoring Accessories web site has them for $17,95 each. I have them on my 99.5 A4 and they are whiter but not brighter than the stock. Worth the $17.95 each? Sure, why not. Not as good as an HID system, but I see no brightness performance loss compared to the stock lights.<ul><li><a href="http://www.puma-access.com/specials.html">http://www.puma-access.com/specials.html</a</li></ul>
