It occurs to me that a great many A4 owners would<br>be investing their hard earned dollars much more<br>wisely with Msrs. Barber, Bondurant, etc. than<br>with Msrs. Hoppen, Wetteraur, etc. My experience<br>has been that I have improved the performance of<br>my car much more dramatically with a weekend on<br>a racetrack with a semi-knowledgeable driving <br>instructor than with many hundreds of dollars<br>spent trying to squeeze another twenty or thirty<br>horsepower from a car that I really don't know <br>how to properly exploit. Kind of reminds me of<br>a bunch of high schoolers comparing the size of <br>their components in the shower, and ain't one of<br>them ever gotten any trim anyway! <br>of dollars spent )<br>of dollars

<br>Going to the track is what made me want to spend all these hundreds in the first place. It's turned into an addiction...but really fun.
You supposed to be Hans Stuck??

When your abilities out pace your cars what will you do? Like in skiing, you can only be so good on less competitive equipment. You don't see the great racers using Mom's sedan (well your MOM not mine, mine drives a XJR), do you? And why do you think you can not have large components and get trim in highschool, just cause that was your experience does not mean it was mine.

Hans Stuck or not the guy's right! I've been to Boundt. and cart driving school and in my current Jetta I can out turn kids in their Z28's (okay, straights are different) and can glue myself to anybody in winding roads (ever had a front wheel drive car on three wheels?). If your into it enough to read this stuff, -go to driving school! If anything you become a safer driver if not faster, there's a lot they will teach you that you DO NOT KNOW. And you will not beleive how fun driving on a track is untill you've done it!!!!!!!!<br>'99 2.8Q, Sport Package, 5manual due on Dec. 16 to be chipped soon there after and another weekend at Sears or Seca not sure on venue yet. Want to run?

Is'nt it possible that people here have been to driving school and are also spending money to get their cars up to snuff? Yes I had my highly tuned 83 VW GTI on the track and on three wheels many times. My first driver school was in the early 80's. I think I have been to around 10 since then. Includind one Porsche gave for new car owners. I'm a member of the Quattro club and we do them all the time. I do not understand your logic, these two things are not mutually exclusive.
