Well, I must confess that the clutch issue, the ignition switch and ignition mechanism failure happening all at the same time(on a night that I was really having fun), left me really disapointed and furious(plus the car had to be towed- first time in my 32 years life). She has been grounded for a long time now and the S spirit is back. First I was thinking that the clutch rivets failed, but I need some input about the clutch mechanism before starting to disassemble the tranny;
1- The deal is that the clutch refuses to disengage and happened twice to me (on other cars) that the hose from the master cylinder to the slave was clogged, so that was the first thing I checked- after disassembling it I could check that it's completelly free of dirt or obstruction.
2- With everything assembled and oil filled/bleeded(it's really hard to bleed and the pedal tends to stay on the floor) there are no visible leaks under the car what excludes(in my oppinion) a slave failure
3- Asked a friend to press the clutch pedal while I observed the master to slave hose behavior- oil pressure reaches the hose because it's size increases a bit.

Came to my tought that maybe the master cilinder is worned out and it's not producing the required oil pressure to the throw out bearing to strike the clutch plate- is this possible?

while someone depresses the pedal.

When I changed my master cyl - after connecting the feed hose - I inverted the new cyl - released my clamp (slightly) - and let it run until fluid ran clear. Connected it to the tube to the slave - (while leaving the clamp on the feed tube slightly open) - and that was it. Pedal feel is perfect. (Well, after the disk & preasure plate was replaced.)

Pedal stays on the floor? sounds like the pedal / master cyl pushrod is broken... (And I AM an expert here!

Welcome back!!!!

Hey Bill, didn't broke again anh- you should email a "note" to Ingolstat! It's really sad to see those kind off stupid things happen on these kind off cars, seems to me that the clutch pedal manufacturing was done by french people...
The pedal doesn't stay on the bottom. After some bleeding it acts quite normally(like it has always acted). It's a bit confusing, but altho everything seems normal(including the pedal travel/pressure) the clutch doesn't desengage. My friend says that it's the master cilynder and also he says that iff the rivets failed I would be out off clutch for once- what hwppened was that the clutch started to not disengage progressivelly until I was completelly out off clutch.
