I know this has been so over done but I am looking for more specific comments
reguarding my particular issues.

I only have 2k miles but I want to chip the moment I hit 5k. I have done a lot of research
and narowed it down to 3 chips. TAP, WETT and Garrett. I am starting to lean towards
Garrett since they offer a great combo price if you buy both ECU and a Tip shift chip
that improves shifting time and limits. Has anyone had any experience with either chip
and /or Tuner?

Thank you very much.

Hey Shelly,

The Engine chip speaks for itself. Anything that puts out 40-50 extra horsepower WILL make a difference. As for the Tiptronic chip, it's not always that much faster, but it does help. However, this morning, when I was having a bit of fun with my car, it somehow make a huge difference. First to second changes were so quick and crisp. I don't know what I did different, maybe it was because I drove the car harder to begin with this morning and it picked a better shift program.

Garrett Lim is very knowledgable. And his custom tunability and upgrade policy was what sold me on his chips. As for performance gains, check out my Performance Test page on my website.

I say go for the Garrett combo.

in my 99.5 1.8t with tip and love it. I drove down to Philadelphia and had Todd @ awe install the chip for me (along with a K&N filter). I did not go for the extra ecu. I chipped with 1500 miles on the odo.

The chip makes the car feel alot more responsive, whether you're accelerating from a light or you're trying to get up a long steep hill. The chip will not turn your car into a dragster, but, the $400 for the upgrade is well worth it. I chose not to go for the tip chip. I find the stock tip shift points to be good enough for me.
