This is a follow up. I went to dealer picked up the ignition switch, and replaced. The old switch looked ok, but I replaced it anyhow. Thanks for all the how to advice guys out there. But I wanted to follow up with you guys. I had the battery recharged. The original problem still exists. The problem is that the low beam right hand side comes on even though the ignition is off and the light switch turned is off obviously drainning the battery. This problem happened twice (that I noticed it) before the switch replacement, and once after so far. I have HID if it matters.

Has anyone seen anything like this? This is real crazy because you don't know when the batter will die. Can someone help please?

Long shot but many years ago I had weird stuff like this happen. Turns out one of the six(?) diodes had shorted. Mark near Chicago.

From looking at the wiring diagrams it sure looks like the two light wires are ganged together at the light switch. So if both work normally but only one comes on when the car is off, then I don't think it's the light switch. Unless only one comes on because the voltage is too low... hmm. When this happens again you could try unplugging the light that's on. If the other one comes on then that'd be a clue that the light switch is bad.

Did you install the HIDs or did the previous owner? Do they get power through relays or is it direct?

after market kit from proXenon

OK, here is the complete story. After I got the car I wanted HID's. The best I was able to find was PrOxenon. I was sold that it is not the cheap chinese made ones. Upon arrival. I found that they don't work unless I connect the relay kit included with it. The lights worked fine for a couple of weeks. Then I noticed that the left low beam stopped working. I examined it and found the the fuse in the relay kit was blown, replaced one fuse after the other , and they all kept blowing. Further testing and swapping of parts pointed to the Ballast. Sure enough was full of water and got shortted out. It was hell trying to get the company to replace it, but they did.

Now recently, I have noticed that upon turning the light switch on. Once in a while the left low beam flickers for a second and it doesn't come on especially if the lights were on before, and kind off warm as you are doing multi stop, start, and go. About 3 days ago
the battery died due to the front low beam staying on after the car was turned off. I noticed it by chance because after arriving home, parked in the garage, went inside, then went back to the garage to get my laptop from the trunk and saw the front left light on. I checked the light switch was off and no keys in ignition. I turned the switch to on and then back to off , the light remained on. I grabbed me keys started the car, turned the lights on (the left low beam didn't come on) then turned them off the right low beam turned off. I was semi satisfied left it and went to sleep. The next morning th battery was low, and subsequently winded up changing the ignition switch because it was suggested that that was the problem.

Since the last episode, the left low beam does not come on. You could see it do a small flicker, but doesn't come on. The right one comes on. I don't know if it stays on like before. However, I noticed it one time after the replacement of ignition switched to come on after I turned off the switch and ignition, and that's the only concrete evidence that I have that the ignition switch replacement didn't fix anything.

I have taken now the front headlight assembly out for inspection and cleaning. I am thinking maybe I can find a wire that remains juiced with 12 volts shorting my low beam or something..... I am not very good with electrical stuff. Boy I sure hope I was back in Cali, because my brother is good at troubleshooting this stuff.

I'm not sure how you hooked them up but
remove the lights and test the original headlight wires for power when the switch is off
that will eliminate the cars switch and harness..
if that test's OK then the next test I would do is the relays that power the lights and then the ballast.

I am out playing with the HID's. Honestly I think they are jacked up. After cleaning both housing kits and installing everything back. I turn the switch on and bingo both HID's come on. Great feeling.....right ok that takes care of one problem. Let's see if I can take care of the second problem which is the light periodically staying on and not knowing when is the next time my battery is going to be dead. So I went to remove the fuse to see if that will turn off headlight. Turned light switch off, removed 1st fuse, turned switch on, and guess what, no lighs great. reversed the procedure put fuse back in and the lights don't want to came back on. Rechecked my connections and resprayed them with electrical contact cleaner......nothing.

Playing with the car a bit more, moving shaking the wires, keeping in mind the warning of high voltage. Once I touched the relay it bumped against body parts, I don't have them secured, the light flickered. Bumped it tapped, it flickered alot more, then suddenly the right side went out. So I guess it is related to that stupid thing. I have noe idea what is in there. It is heat shrunk rapped, and I bumped it I think to death. So if it is a relay. It is probably no good by now.

What do you guys think I should do?

Really corroded relay and connections. I want to go to autozone to see if they have them, so I can buy a replacement and figure a new way to seal this garbage. The hell with proxenon ****, and the re-engineering in FRANCE and bologne.

http://public.fotki.com/wahhabm/s4_hid_relay_connection/</a

my hid's are connected right to the original headlight wires and I had no problems with them
as for the relays
I've seen those at the parts store, they usually come with cheap fog or driving lights.

you may want to add some kind grease or other protection to the terminals since it looks like water is causing the problem

I tried connecting from the ballast directly, but it doesn't work, although they touted the system as build with a starter in the ballast. I wish. What brand are you running?

My battery died after a few tests since I cleaned the relays, and the lights suddenly went out. I am hoping it is related to battery being weak nothing else. I went out also and found some relays at Autozone that are 30 AMPS. I just want to check the ohms on it before I decide to go with the new ones or old ones, of course after the battery charges. So probably talking tomorrow, and I hope to put an end to this chaos. Of course I picked up some sure connect bulb grease, hopefully will keep it from corroding again.

my ballasts are matsu****a...

if those are just relays I don't see why it wouldn't work just connecting them directly, I use my old 7.2V RC car charger to test mine in the house and it worked fine
do you have the wiring diagram that came with the kit?

Just connected it and voila it works. Actually the relays are pretty quiet. The old ones used to have a loud tick once you switch the lights on.
No wiring diagram, very poor kit in my opinion. I put the new relays in case the others were corroted from inside although looked sealed well, but why take a chance the new ones cost $8 & tax.
