1.8 bar wastegate spring measurement please
I have a very stiff wastegate spring from one of my old turbo quattros laying around. I'm hoping that it is essentially the same 'upgrade' spring that many of you are installing from 034EFI. Can someone who has yet to install theirs take a quick measurement for me? Preferably length and diameter. Or better yet, does someone have a side by side picture of the two springs? TIA

Here you go (inside)
I measured the spring before I installed it and wrote it down for future reference:
The diameter seems to vary from 3.65 mm to 3.75 mm but its mostly around 3.65 to 3.70 mm. There are five "coils", with three intercoil spaces of about 20 mm center to center (of the wire). The final top and bottom coils are turned 360 degree and "squished" (bent, whatever) to touch the start of that coil. (Hence the "five" coils with three spaces. These final coils have been ground flat (for seating purposes, presumably). The overall slack height is 63.8 mm. The outside diameter is 41.7 mm, the inner diameter is 34.8 mm.
When you try to compress the spring, it gives a bit (maybe 5 to 8 mm) but then it gets REAL tough to compress further.
