Default Blower Motor Squeak

Got a squeak coming from the center vents today, which went away when turning HVAC off, so after a seach I am assuming this is the blower motor. The search revealed that everyone is just replacing the blower. When I got a similiar squeak in my '94 S-10 Blazer, I just cleaned up the ground wire for the blower motor and it has been gone for 2 years now. Anyone try this method on the Ur's?
If the blower motor has to be replaced the search revealed a write-up about being able to do it all underhood and "relatively" easier than other methods, but I never found a link. Anyone have the link or write-up? Thanks.

the squeal is because they used plastic bearings, not ball bearings for the motor.

Default Results of my search

Probably old news to most everyone, but thought I would post the results of my blower motor fix search so that in the future an archive search this may help another individual.

There seems to be three methods for blower motor replacement:
1) Bentley procedure - involves removing entire heater box and then getting at the fan is pretty easy. Requires draining the coolant, and may or may not require removing any interior pieces. If this is method is used, most are replacing heater core and flapper motor as well, because they are easy to get at and nobody wants to remove the heater box again.
2) There may be enough play in the box to be able to remove the fan without removing the heater box. It does require breaking the seal from the heater box to the firewall, but does not require draining the coolant from the heater core. There is a good write-up on urs4.com about this which I located on an old version of the site through www.webarchive.org.
3) The A6/100 people seem to be cutting a notch in the top of the heater box to remove the blower motor without breaking the heater box seal with the firewall. There is a good write-up about this in the A6/100 FAQ section. This method does not seem to be used by the urS people.
