Lost power (boost) at full op temp this morning, then took WAY too many cranks to start at night..
Was getting into boost when all the sudden it felt like I popped a hose and I got a boost spike, however the next WOT pull was perfect with no boost loss..
Left the car in the parking garage all day (heated garage), came out eight hours later and had to crank the thing forever to get it started. Once it started, I got perfect boost all the way home (did three WOT pulls, held steady on the gauge), no idle issues (like a POS failure) during all this time. No CEL at all during all this mess and restarted perfect (crank wise) when hot.
Five new coils installed less than 2K ago, original POS's (74K), CPS original, new plugs / boots.
Does this sound like a failing CPS or the temp sensor on the back of the head? I can rule out the MFTS correct?
Taking it in to pull codes (if there are any) as soon as I can break away.
TIA

Want my guess? IF you don't get a 2113 (=Cam sensor) then its the fuel pump. Cranking is a sign of..
a dying fuel pump. You don't get many signs. The loss of power at WOT is likely the pump unable to keep up with demand = lean = pinging = ECU dialing back the boost.
But these are just educated guesses based on experience.
I COULD be wrong.
But not likely. ;>
