Default coolant?

I am draining my coolant, are there any off the shelf coolants that I can use? Or do I have to stick with the stock (cut off your arm cost) audi blue stuff?
Thanks

I'd stick with the G11 stuff (Pentosin). Should be $10 max for 1.5 litres, 3.0 litres should do it.

Default You can use any off the shelf coolant you like as long as you fully flush the system out before

you add the new coolant. I use the G12, however if you travel a lot, I would use something readily available like normal green or Dexcool. If you choose to use OEM, you can always add straight water in the case of a breakdown until you can find more OEM coolant.

Default does G12 have any advantage over G11 or Prestone?

the car came with G12, but i switched it to regular ol' prestone because paying $25 for a gallon of G12 got ridiculous.

Default G12 is supposedly a lifetime coolant where the others have to be flushed and replaced after a while.

G12+ is advantageous because everything mixes with it. Haven't been able to find it around here yet. Then again, I haven't been looking too hard.

If capacity is 9 litres, then yes.

Default If my experience is any indication, the lifetime of coolant is not very long.

I just found my 10th cooling system leak tonight.

I'm going to stop filling with G11, this is just silly. It's never in the car for more than a few months anyway.

I think I need a new radiator.
