Default failed emmisions 97 a6q. 2.8 v6

It says " Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected" I just bought the car and he said he hadn't changed the plugs in 100,00 miles? I don't know where to start. Definitely would like to avoid the checkbook.

Default C4 100/A6 forum. Sounds like an EGR problem, maybe you can clean the valve

My 2.8 12v was OBD-I. =)

Default Probably plugged up EGR passages.

If they are plugged up the sytem does not get up to temp and throws that code.
