Default Anyone needs a pair of 10mm spacers for the rear shocks?

The 30mm lowering mod went fine and now I have the car sitting just like I wanted it to be(I'll post some pics later)! I had to remove the Bilstein rear spacers and had to cut 1 ring from the rear Eibach springs to get the car balanced, so I don't need the rear spacers. I can offer them to anyone who needs them, you just have to pay the shipping and it will be quite cheap since the spacers are very light as they were made of alluminium.

I read somewhere as a young kid, it's not safe to cut coils off springs

Yeah, not a good idea at all, for performance at least.

Default I doesn't please me also, but I had no other choice.

In the future I'll order the H&R race ones. Now I'm really short on money...

Default Why don't you get the H&R 29800's... the ones for the 1991 200TQ...

I still haven't seen an S-Car lower than mine, unless its on coilovers, or Andre's silver S4, with Weitech Springs, i believe!

Teh spring rate may be a bit off, but the koni's are set at a full 100% stiff, and I love the cornering ability.. ESPECIALLY NOW that I have complete new rear brake system, the car doesn't dive anymore, cause the rear brakes work! YAY!

Default i don't think it matters that much really since it's a dead coil anyway.

some on the s-car list have done it but yeah, it's not a good practice.

Default I guess it depends on who you ask...

I have a book called "Chassis Engineering" by Herb Adams which recomends cutting springs over buying new ones.

Incidentally this is not at all an engineering text, but more of a cookbook. To get an idea of the book's perspective, consider that the author also thinks independent rear suspension is inferior in most ways to a solid rear axle...

A free axle IS superior - offroad - ONLY.

Default The book was advocating a solid rear end for race cars, due to...

its anti-squat properties, ruggedness, and parts availability.
