Fog Light Disfunction

Fog Light Disfunction
I just purchased my first Audi, a 94 S4.
I've noticed it carries some of the common problems I've seen mentioned around this forum; burnt out bulbs for seat heaters etc, trunk lock cylindr doesn't work...
But I'm having an issue with my rear fog light, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had (and solved) this issue, so maybe I can save some debug time. The fog light doesn't work unless I open the trunk. As soon as a start closing the trunk (swing the deck lid 10-15 degrees), the light gos off, 0 volts at the bulb. I figure it's a loose wire, but the bundle looks clean and untouched as far as I can see.
Anyone dealt with this before?

check your trunklid-body wiring. it gets bent every time you open and close the trunk...
so it often wears out and you lose lighting. do your reverse lights work?

Yeah, all the other lights work without issue.
As soon as a warmer day comes along, I gues I'll pull apart the wire bundle and look for a break in the wire or wire jacket.
