I have a Europa Blue 97 A4 1.8tqm--I want to make the color 'scheme' of my car dark blue and white. I'm going to be getting white wheels, and am contemplating what the Audi rings would look like white. Any BTDT? Can I just paint them? I would debadge all but the Audi rings, BTW.
They have got a point, though

Frankly, I pretty much agree with the overall sentiment expressed, although I think folks could have been a little kinder about it! But as a group, I think Audi owners tend to be opposed to ideas like gold plated trim, vinyl roofs, dayglo wiper arms, etc.
But hey, it's your car. If that's what you want to do, do it.
I used to fantasize about getting a Porsche 928, slamming it, putting on little chrome wheels, fuzzy dice, dingleballs, etc, and driving it to a Porsche Club meeting. There's something about a pack of snobs that rubs me the wrong way. That I'm here to tell the story is proof that I never did it.

You snob prima donnas make me nauseous. What gives you the right to slam someone's ideas of taste and individuality? They stopped making Model T's in only black about 80 years ago for a reason. Everyone has DIFFERENT TASTES!
Half of all Audis sold are silver. What a bunch of individuals we have! Nothing like being a lemming in a sea of conscious numbing conformity. Gee, I wanna be just like all of you guys.
Don't listen to what a few narrow-minded people have to say about what YOU do with YOUR car. Anything you do to personalize your car to make it different makes it better.
FWIW, I like the idea of white wheels and the white badges, especially on the dark car. To strip the chrome off of plastic, use a liberal amount of EZ-OFF oven cleaner and a stif-bristled paintbrush. Wear gloves and do it outside, its caustic stuff. Primer the bare plastic and spray on.
Good luck with YOUR car.

Love the wide white walls idea
Not a matter of taste, Just class.
