First, why the black lower valances and skirts?
This aspect of the A4 design seems neglected. The black makes the car look as if it's floating (at least the light colored ones) This is probably because of the need to differenciate it from the A6.

Secondly, the new side door guards are now wider than the original ones. This makes the car seem less sporty. The thin streamlined guards contrasted the clean wide body panels better.

Just my 2 cents worth. The A4 is still the best looking car out there.
