First of all, my thanks to all who welcomed me , when I got my 99.5 A4 2.8 Q S one month ago. I traded UP, and I mean UP, from an Acura Integra. There is no comparison in the handling characteristics, and high level of style and comfort. As for BMW's, I tried them, and only if you added "options for 1000's more could you begin to approach the quality for $'s.
Am really looking forward to first weekend in december, when we take this lil' Audi from LA to Monterey on PCH Highway 1, with it's 60+ miles of hairpin turns overlooking the Pacific.
Question: anyone else notice an "un-even" image from headlights, when you see them on a wall, garage door etc. It's like they are misaligned, but I can't see anything off-kilter.
Keep up the great message board!

There's been some discussion on this forum of the low beam headlight pattern since the 99.5 models hit the road. The distinct cut-off of the projector beams highlights the fact that the left beam has been aimed lower to keep from blinding oncoming drivers.

Many posters think these lights are aimed too low. After 14 days of possession of my 99.5 2.8 Avant QMS it's my opinion that they're aimed properly - folks just aren't used to seeing how much they've really been "overdriving" their low beams. Those sloppy puddles of light older sealed beams threw really didn't illuminate any more road, they just didn't accentuate the change to "no, you can't see beyond this".

You know, that's not something I've thought about, the pattern I'm used to seeing. It's a good point.
I still feel the lights on my car ( 99.5,A4 2.8QMS ) are still aimed to low but in light of your remark, no pun intended, not as low as I thought.

the on coming traffic, then why do both lights step in the middle of the beam. Also, if I can adjust them up and the center of the beam is only about .25" higher, is there really any benefit?

and keeps Audi from stocking two different projector bulbs.
