As I stated yesterday, I had my 2.8QM control arms replaced due to
squeaking (4 total). I also had the tie rods replaced per the recall...
(also tires rotated and other stuff).
The car feels extremely tight, handles maybe better than it ever did.
But It seems that the suspension now doesn't "soak up" the bumps
like it previously did (NO sport package here). I seem to feel
the road imperfections more, which I don't like (lots of potholes in and
around Boston).

My question is: Is this something that could improve after a break in period?
Or is it possible that they could have put some sport package parts in there?
I also thought that they may have played with the tire pressure and that's the
cause, but have not been able to look at that yet. Maybe tonight..

It also could be all in my head, there's a lot of empty space in there.

but the new bushings could have tightened it up a bit. After all if the old ones hadn't changed you wouldn't need the new ones. As you thought I would check the tire pressures, they might have brought them up to spec. If they have you could drop it a bit to soften your ride, you will give up a little handling though.
