View Full Version : Might be an off the wall question, but who here would be interested in a CF hood GB?

There was one over on the 80/90/Cq forum that started back in November and the guys are just starting to get their hoods, and I must say they look fantastic!

I would just like to know who would fork out in upward of $700 for a CF hood, made to exceed OEM quality.

I've heard of carbon hood group buys that offered different vent options for different prices. Could you check? Thanks.

If someone in New England would like to sell me their old Emerald hood after getting a CF hood, I'd be happy to do that. My hood has chips and dents in it.

You know you are really pushing the envelope when you need to do mods to your mods - lol.

You are an inspiration to us all!

Didn't finish my post ;-) The link below is for a guy who makes his living making fiberglass/carbon/Kevlar body parts etc...

He said for Fiberglass hood about 2K for tooling/mold and approx 400 per hood. At quantity 5 approx 700 each copy. On the outside with 9 people that would only be $200 each. It would only
be another $400 per copy then, for quantity of 9 so $600 US total.

For Carbon Fiber you would be looking at 700 a piece and a little over 2k for the molds

Need at least 15 to 20 people to make it worth while...

http://www.aerosport.net/</a

Lots of people have hoods that are beat to hell... so rather that fix it, replace it with a much lighter one, that hood is super heavy !

Problem is that Ur4 and UrS6 hoods are different, which means two different molds would have to be built unless all the interest was Ur4 only...

If we go with a larger company like Fiber Images, I'm sure we can get each hood to cost under $750.
