in a 94 UrS4? I've been feeling a slight vibration in the car, and I think it's emanating from the rear diff. With the car up in the air, idling in 1st gear, the left rear tire spins free, while the right tire rotates slowly at an uneven pace. Kinda like it's trying to spin, then it stops for a few seconds, moves a little and so on. When I put my hand on the rear diff case while it's running like that, I can feel an uneven vibration/rumble. Rear diff going? And does anyone have a good used rear diff available?

V8Q rear diff sitting in my basement.

Approx 80k miles on it.

It came with my 5ktq when I bought it. The PO was going to try and do the switch over to 4:11 but never got around to it...

If you're interested, LMK...

I would be interested, Stephen. I need it for my UrQ... Email me, would you? How much you need for it?

Peace,

Stephen, email me off list and let me know how much you'd be willing to sell it for.

Been happy with it as gives me both dry and snow traction performance at any speed. Verses the Diff Lock only to 15 MPH w/o disabling the auto-disable function. As to how noticeable it is is another question which I cant quantify. But it was cheaper then buying a NEW rear diff after I blew up the locker in this storm:

I have a V8 rear diff for my S6 that I havn't installed yet. With winter approaching, I'm thinking it's time. But I worry it'll be much harder on my tires, particularly on snows for the drive to/from the mountain on dry roads.

But then again I do run my car hard and the tyres wear anyway ;-)

To make that argument, v8's should all have increased tire wear, since they ALL have rear torsens from the factory.

how do you defeat the auto-disabling function on the diff lock? i heard it could be done and doesn't disengage until 60mph... fact or fiction?
