I don't believe this issue has ever been addressed on A4.org so I thought I might give it a shot.
I just noticed this "problem" or "noise"(sound) tonight. I was driving the 99.5 A4 1.8T (with stock sports package) with driver's side window down in a parking garage.
It was quiet inside the garage. As the car was going over a bump, I heard a quick popping sound - sounds like a small amount of air got squeezed out of something and the sound duration is very short.
Then I drove over another strip of bump and I heard the same air-releasing type of noise.
Sounds like the noise came from the shock/spring part of the car (seems like it's from rear but not sure).
Is it possible that this is actually the sports shock or suspension system at work? or is this some kind of defect on the springs?
