Looking for one of these for a '92 100csq. Does anyone know if it will fit a v-6?
Any leads? Thanks.JeffH.

Not sure if it will fit a V6. Keep in mind that the 1992 S4 did NOT have one of these and also that the brakefluid (? - might be PS , I am not looking at it right now) reservoir is in the way of the bar were one to be retrofitted to the 1992 S4. In 1993 they redesigned the reservoir and made the bar standard. To add one to a 1992 S4 you'd have to change the reservoir too. I realize this isn't exaclty what you were asking but it might help you anyway.

a really nice all aluminum strut tower brace. It's not cheap, but it's nice. If you need a new brake fluid res. those are pretty cheap from the dealer, just buy one from a 93 or later.

www.2bennett.com it's not on their site but their phone # is.

If you want to make some money betting with your UrS4 friends, it is a safe bet if you know the car is a 92 spec car ("quattro" in the rear window defroster, elm wood interior trim, trip computer, rear sway bar), if you ask them the build date (its on the door post sticker), if the car was built in April through June 92, without opening the hood, you can tell/bet them that they have a front strut bar. It seems that there must have been an running change on the production line on this feature. If the build date was in that period, it is very likely (the later, the better) that the car has the front strut brace as well as the rear sway bar. Just a little bit of trivia for you.

Mark: Sorry I missed the build date reference in your subject line. I don't mean to suggest that you are wrong but I would be really really surprized and dumbfounded if your build date was May 91. My understanding is a model year run ends in June and the new one starts in August (July is holiday and change-over month). Therefore, a May 91 build date should, in my understanding (I could be wrong), make your car a 91. And there weren't any 91 S4's other than may be factory test mules/show cars. If it was a 91, it would have the UFO brakes and probably the 3B distributer, not the AAN coil pack ignition. Please check. If I am wrong, the crow will be eaten with hot sauce and my "data base" (almost every magazine to ever feature the UrS4) will be adjusted.

These are the earliest references to the S4 that I have. As you can see the earliest on is Nov. 91, i.e. the 92 model year.

Mark: Thanks for checking the build date. Nice to know that my theory holds true, i.e. the April 92 to June 92 build-date cars had both the upper strut bar and the rear sway bar. I think they took the rear bar out of the equation because it induced too much oversteer for the average "burger" to handle without lawsuits from the loved ones. Understeer results in fewer lawsuits.
