I've read Charlie Smith's very informative post of Sept 22, 2001 regarding the Audi 01E Quattro transmission.

Is this the latest word on the conversion? i.e. bottom line, it can't be done without spending many thousands of dollars?

Has anyone on the board actually made the conversion?

Sorry in advance if this topic has been flogged to death in the past. Using the search function revealed surprizingly little.

I can't think of anybody on the S-Car list who has reported anything other than what Charlie has published. I don't think the subject has come up much at all on this board.

From everything that I hear, no matter which way you go (rebuild, new, etc.), it's expensive.
