Hey guys-
I just installed the ECS big red brake kit and let me tell you, what a difference! A lot more pedal feel, a lot less pedal travel and a lot more braking power and that's without even breaking in the pads yet! I was just wondering if any of you have found a rear brake solution? No one seems to offer a kit with brake balance in mind. I was looking for a rear kit that will keep the parking brake and be somewhat similar to the rears on the RS2 as far as size goes to preserve the balance. Otherwise, car stops great now!

When I got my S6 two years ago, I did alot of research on brake upgrades. I dont recall seeing any rear upgrades other than pads and lines. By the way, where did you buy your kit and how much?

I got my kit from the guys at euro car service out in the midwest. They have more Ur-s upgrades than you have probably seen at any one retailer. A cool bunch of guys, and when I was installing it and came across a few bugs, they were totally willing to help out. Their website is euro-car-service.com The stage III kit that I got cost me 1850, overall the best price I could find for this particular kit. Good luck!

Euro Car Service

Really the most you would want to do is grabby pads and rotors. If you upgrade the rear calipers you are getting into master cyl issues. Also, consider the effects on the quattro:suspension:brakes equation. Quattro makes it all relative, so when you do up the braking system to that level, you have to balance the suspension for harder braking reactions and what happens during a turn while incorporating more rear brake force, ect...

Thanks for the reference. The cost of the Big Red upgrade has come down since I last investigated. What made you opt for the Stage III over the Stage II?

Well, to be totally honest, I wanted the biggest, fade free brake I could find for the purpose of tracking my car in the springtime. Tom's kit costs a lot less than the movit kit. Besides, what are credit cards for? :-)
