I am trying to fix a noisy pulley/bearing driven off the V-belt. I changed the tensioner last night. The old one was noisy but it is not the main cause of noise.

I want to run the car without the V-belt just to troubleshoot this further. However, to do this I need to remove the radiator FAN (Black Plastic).
Does anybody have a suggestion on how to remove this without buying the Audi special tools?

I also have a 1993 S4 with noise from the pulley set somewhere. Did you find the main culprit? I was about to change the idler pulley. It made a rattling noise from 800-2400 rpm.
